In December 2014 an impact study of the EQUASS Assurance certification program in Estonia has been published by ASTANGU with support from the European Social Fund.

Astangu Vocational Rehabilitation Center was founded in 1995 under the administration of the Ministry of Social Affairs. EQUASS Assurance has been implemented in Estonia in 2010 and 2011 with the support of the European Social Fund. Astangu has been acting as EQUASS Local Licence Holder in Estonia since January 2012 after having practiced this role in 2010 and 2011, thanks to the ESF capacity-building funds.

The EQUASS system has experienced a tremendous surge of scope in the last couple of years, and is now well implemented in several European countries. This growth means that EQUASS is now relying on an ever-increasing pool of qualified auditors, from all over Europe. They have a very special insight into the EQUASS system, and Isabel Silva, a Portuguese auditor for EQUASS Assurance and Excellence, accepted to answer a few of our questions. Isabel has been a certified EQUASS auditor since 2009, and has successfully carried out several audits in Portugal.

Sissel Andreassen has visited more than 110 rehabilitation organisations in Norway. She has performed 85 audits, 23 audit test-days and one supervision-day in organisations with a staff varying from 2 persons to 1500.
