ARASS - Association of Rehabilitation Support and Social Solidarity is a nonprofit organization (IPSS) founded on March 3, 1990 by Public scripture and which has been granted status as a public utility organization, whose main activity is to promote education, reeducation, rehabilitation and protection to young people and adults with mental disabilities.
Inserted in the parish of Canaviais, within the county and district of Évora, this Organization has a total area of about 3.500m2.
Having concluded in December 1991 with effect from 01 October of the same year cooperation agreement (atypical) with the District Centre of Social Security for the social response - CAO - Occupational Activity Centre, then welcomed their first 11 users / customers.
Subsequently, in November 1996 came the opening of the social response - LRE - Residential Home, whose cooperation agreement (typical), also agreed with the District Centre of Social Security, on August 14, 1996, cover a total of 15 users. .
For continuous improvement of the quality of life of their users / customers, ARASS is an organization with a history of 31 years, which seeks to contribute unequivocally to the development in the area of mental disability, seeking to introduce new forms of therapy as well as multidisciplinary interventions in different areas such as: nursing, psychomotor, physiotherapy and clinical psychology.
ARASS currently works at two social responses: CAO and LRE, which in combination, provide specialized care aiming towards the rehabilitation and development of capabilities of the 30 people that supports through the various activities conducted under: daily life, leisure and well-being, personal development and social activities and occupational therapies, and participation in the dynamics of the Organization.
ARASS offers unique services in the County, such as the existence of a therapeutic pool open to Community institutions and counterparts, answers in sports (gym adapted) and cultural (adapted dance and music therapy), that provide greater visibility of the institution both at of municipal or national.
A ARASS – Associação de Reabilitação Apoio e Solidariedade Social é uma Organização sem fins Lucrativos ( IPSS) fundada em 03 de Março de 1990 por escritura Pública e à qual foi atribuído estatuto de entidade de utilidade Pública, cuja actividade principal é promover a educação , reeducação reabilitação e protecção à doença de jovens e adultos com deficiência mental.
Inserida na freguesia de Canaviais e pertencente ao concelho e distrito de Évora, esta Organização conta com uma área total de cerca de 3.500m2.
Tendo celebrado, em Dezembro de 1991 com efeitos a 01 de Outubro do mesmo ano, acordo de cooperação ( atípico) com o Centro Distrital de Segurança Social para a resposta social - C.A.O - Centro de Atividades Ocupacionais, acolheu então os seus primeiros 11 utentes/clientes.
Posteriormente e em Novembro de 1996 deu-se a inauguração da resposta social - LRE - Lar Residencial, cujo acordo de cooperação ( típico), celebrado igualmente com o Centro Distrital de Segurança Social, em 14 de Agosto de 1996, abrangeria um total 15 utentes.
Visando a melhoria contínua da qualidade de vida dos seus utentes/clientes, a ARASS é uma Organização com uma história viva de 31 anos que procura contribuir de forma inequívoca para o desenvolvimento na área da deficiência mental, procurando introduzir novas formas de terapia assim como multidisciplinaridade de intervenções em áreas diferentes tais como: enfermagem, psicomotricidade, fisioterapia e psicologia clínica.
Presentemente a ARASS funciona a nível de duas respostas sociais: CAO e LRE, que em articulação, prestam cuidados especializados objetivando a reabilitação e desenvolvimento de potencialidades, das 30 pessoas que apoia através das várias atividades que realiza no âmbito de : vida diária , lazer e bem estar, desenvolvimento pessoal e social , atividades ocupacionais e terapêuticas, e participação na dinâmica da Organização.
A ARASS dispõe de serviços únicos no conselho, tais como existência de uma piscina terapêutica aberta à comunidade e instituições congéneres, respostas no âmbito desportivo (ginásio adaptado) e cultural (dança adaptada e musicoterapia), que proporcionam uma maior visibilidade da instituição quer a nível de concelho quer a nível nacional.
