Želva (Turtle), Company for training and employment of handicapped persons, has grown out of a much smaller Želva, established in 1991 by Sožitje – Association for mentally handicapped in Slovenia- following the suggestion of the Employment office. It was founded to provide work training for slightly mentally (and often also physically) handicapped young people.
Želva has been successfully training handicapped people for 28 years now. Constant search of employment possibilities for handicapped people has made Želva a company with very complicated organizational structure combining many different areas, each in its own way important for handicapped people to be involved in.
All the programmes are run together with the program of vocational rehabilitation-suitable concession for by the Ministry of work, family and social affairs in 2006. Programmes are meant to completely train for practical employment, emphasizing independency at work, high work motivation and accustoming to the technological procedures and respecting of organizational rules and regulations. They also offer an optimal use of person's working capabilities, developing new skills, strengthening self-confidence, confirming working habits, reaching and experiencing successes, connecting an individual with a surroundings and reaching even better integration.
Želva, podjetje za usposabljanje in zaposlovanje invalidov, je bila ustanovljena leta 1991 s strani Zveze Sožitje-Zveza društev za pomoč osebam z motnjami v duševnem razvoju, na predlog Zavoda RS za zaposlovanje. Ustanovljena je bila z namenom usposabljanja in zaposlovanja invalidov oziroma oseb z motnjami v duševnem in telesnem razvoju.
Želva uspešno usposablja invalide že 28 let. Stalno iskanje zaposlitvenih možnosti za invalide je podjetje doseglo z zapleteno organizacijsko strukturo, ki združuje veliko različnih področij, vsako na svoj način pomembno za invalide.
Vsi programi so tesno povezani z Centrom zaposlitvene in poklicne rehabilitacije, ki je dobil koncesijo s strani Ministrstva za delo, družino in socialne zadeve v letu 2006. Programi so namenjeni za usposabljanje in zaposlovanje s poudarkom pri neodvisnosti pri delu, visoki motiviranosti za delo in primernih tehnoloških postopkih. Prav tako ponujajo optimalno doseganje delovne zmogljivosti, razvoj novih znanj, krepitev samozavesti, delovnih navad, doživljanje pozitivnih uspehov, ki omogočajo posamezniku uspešno integracijo v socialno okolje.
