Public Institution “Vilties erdvė” (hereinafter – Institution) has been founded in 2002 after restructuring two budgetary institutions of Mažeikiai District Municipality: The Mažeikiai Work Therapy Centre and “Vilties gyvenimo namai” of Mažeikiai district.
The Institution has 3 joint owners: Mažeikiai District Municipality, the Lithuanian Association of Care for People with Intellectual Disabilities “Viltis” and Association of Care for People with Intellectual Disabilities “Mažeikių Viltis”.
Purpose of the institution is to prepare people with intellectual and mental disabilities for a more independent life, with the aim of integrating them into society.
Vision of the institution is a good quality independent life in the community for people with intellectual and mental disabilities.
Mission of the institution is to provide high-quality complex social care services for people with intellectual and mental disabilities.
Values of the Institution – social justice, decency, respect for individual rights and dignity.
Concept of quality of life of the institution – satisfaction of recipients of service with their current life situation compared to the desired level.
The Institution consists of 3 subdivisions:
The Institution provides long-term/short-term and day social care services.
Long-term/short-term social care is provided to persons in two separate buildings of the Institution – Group living home No. 1 and Group living home No. 2.
Long-term/short-term social care services provided to residents in Group living homes No. 1 and No. 2: information, consultation, mediation, representation, housing, development and maintenance of every-day skills, development of occupational skills, catering, personal hygiene, health care, leisure organization, transportation and other services necessary according to the level of independence of a person. The residents' independence, day-to-day service and socialization skills are being developed, favourable conditions similar to a home environment without prejudice to the dignity of a person have been created.
Day social care services are provided in the Special workshop of the Institution.
The main aim of the Special workshop is to develop and maintain the social skills of people, to develop and strengthen their occupational skills by providing the possibility to apply acquired knowledge in work, to seek to provide the possibility for people with mental disabilities to be a part of the labour market, work and earn money, to form aesthetic and communication skills, to improve physical health, provide psychological and emotional assistance, improve the knowledge of the world.
Providing information, consultation, mediation, representation, communication, catering, leisure organization, development of occupational skills, transport and other services necessary according to the level of independence of a person are being provided to the participants of the Special workshop.
Development of every-day life skills and occupational skills is organized in tailoring, paper handicrafts (floristic), crafts, carpentry and ceramics groups in the Special workshop. Occupation for people with severe disabilities is organized in the group of people with severe disabilities.
The public can familiarize themselves with the items made by participants of the Special Workshop, i.e. handmade embroidery, lace, wood, floristry and ceramics, or purchase them at exhibitions-fairs organized on the occasion of various holidays, the handicraft kiosk of VšĮ "Vilties erdvė" on the FC website and on the website www. meskuriame.lt
Viešoji įstaiga „Vilties erdvė“ (toliau – Įstaiga) įsteigta 2002 m. reorganizavus dvi Mažeikių rajono savivaldybės biudžetines įstaigas: Mažeikių darbo terapijos centrą ir Mažeikių rajono „Vilties gyvenimo namai“.
Įstaigos dalininkai yra 3: Mažeikių rajono savivaldybė, Lietuvos sutrikusio intelekto žmonių globos bendrija „Viltis“ ir Sutrikusio intelekto žmonių globos bendrija „Mažeikių Viltis“.
Įstaigos tikslas –ruošti žmones su intelekto ir psichikos negalia savarankiškesniam gyvenimui, siekiant juos integruoti į visuomenę.
Įstaigos vizija –pilnavertis žmonių su intelekto ir psichikos negalia gyvenimas bendruomenėje.
Įstaigos misija –teikti kokybiškas kompleksines socialinės globos paslaugas žmonėms su intelekto ir psichikos negalia.
Įstaigos vertybės – socialinis teisingumas, padorumas, pagarba asmens teisėms ir orumui.
Įstaigos gyvenimo kokybės samprata – paslaugų gavėjų pasitenkinimas esama gyvenimo situacija lyginant su siekiamu lygiu.
Įstaigą sudaro 3 padaliniai:
Įstaigoje teikiamos ilgalaikės / trumpalaikės ir dienos socialinės globos paslaugos.
Įstaigoje ilgalaikė / trumpalaikė socialinė globa asmenims teikiama dviejuose atskiruose pastatuose – Grupinio gyvenimo namuose Nr. 1 ir Grupinio gyvenimo namuose Nr. 2.
Grupinio gyvenimo namuose Nr. 1 ir Nr. 2 gyventojams teikiamos ilgalaikės / trumpalaikės socialinės globos paslaugos: informavimo, konsultavimo, tarpininkavimo, atstovavimo, apgyvendinimo, kasdienio gyvenimo įgūdžių ugdymo ir palaikymo, darbinių įgūdžių ugdymo, maitinimo, asmens higienos, sveikatos priežiūros, laisvalaikio organizavimo, transporto ir kitos asmeniui pagal jo savarankiškumo lygį reikalingos paslaugos. Lavinamas gyventojų savarankiškumas, kasdienio apsitarnavimo ir bendravimo įgūdžiai, sudarytos palankios, žmogaus orumo nežeidžiančios, artimos namų aplinkai gyvenimo sąlygos. Įstaigoje dienos socialinės globos paslaugos teikiamos Specialiosiose dirbtuvėse. Specialiųjų dirbtuvių pagrindinis tikslas yra ugdyti ir palaikyti asmens socialinius įgūdžius, formuoti, įtvirtinti darbinius įgūdžius, suteikiant galimybę įgytas žinias pritaikyti darbe, siekti, kad proto negalios žmonės ateityje turėtų galimybę dalyvauti darbo rinkoje, dirbti ir užsidirbti, formuoti estetinius ir bendravimo įgūdžius, stiprinti fizinę sveikatą, teikti psichologinę ir emocinę pagalbą, plėsti pasaulio pažinimą.
Specialiųjų dirbtuvių lankytojams teikiamos informavimo, konsultavimo, tarpininkavimo, atstovavimo, bendravimo, maitinimo, laisvalaikio organizavimo, darbinių įgūdžių, transporto ir kitos asmeniui pagal jo savarankiškumo lygį reikalingos paslaugos.
